If you have completed a beginners computer class, or are self taught, then our next step class is ideal for you.You will build on the knowledge you have already gained and have the opportunity to go into greater depth, learning new aspects of computing.

Digital Photography

A practical course that combines the taking of photographs with digital darkroom techniques. This course will cover lighting, composition and give a practical guide to Photoshop and the various tools that can be used to improve your final image. (Includes optional field trip).

Digital Photography - Advanced

This course is aimed at the more experienced learner or those who have already attended a basic digital photography class and will enable them to produce more profesional work. Learners will need a working knowledge of Photoshop and be familiar with their digital cameras.
The sessions will include the use of lighting with both flash and tungsten, retouching, working with layers and the use of text in a photograph.
Optional field trips (usually at the weekend) will also be included in the course.

ECDL (Advanced)

If you have completed your ECDL and want to progress your skills, or if you are already a “power” user - ECDL Advanced is the qualification for you.

ECDL Advanced will allow you to demonstrate your higher level computer skills; you can show employers that you are confident, competent and efficient in a range of applications.

You can take any of the modules individually to receive an ECDL Advanced certificate in that application or, if you complete all of the modules, you will receive an additional ECDL Expert certificate showing you are truly expert in computer use!

Tuesday or Thursday evenings (6 - 8 pm) – Cost £60 per module.

ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)

In addition to the basic course cost students will be expected to pay for examination fees, work books and registration.
Learners can join this course at any time of the year and can attend either on Tuesday or Thursday night, or both if they want to. Learners have 3 years to complete the course from the date of their first exam but on average most people take approximately 30 weeks to complete.

Excel Spreadsheets

Ideal for people who are looking to gain experience and skills in creating tables and spreadsheets for a variety of uses.

Getting Started with Publisher

Learn how to create your own leaflets and professional looking documents and posters with Microsoft Publisher. Knowledge of basic word processing skills is essential for this course.
This course takes place on Tuesday evenings and learners can join at any time. On average learners take approximately 5 weeks to pick up the necessary skills.

Internet & e-mail

Word Processing Level 1

A practically based qualification aimed at those who are relatively new to computers. This course is ideal for people who are looking to gain experience and the necessary skills to lead to further qualifications.
Tuesday or Thursday evenings ( 6 - 8pm for approximately 5 weeks)
In addition learners will be expected to pay for registration to the British Computer Society in order to sit the exam.
